Best NFL games of Week 15: Steelers, Patriots meet in game of the year
By Joe Schiller
The Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots lead the way for the best games of NFL Week 15 in what could be the best matchup we see all year.
Week 14 of the NFL regular did not disappoint, as expected. The Eagles and Rams capped off a great week and we’re back again in Week 15 but this time the AFC gets the love. Two top teams battle it out for the No. 1 seed in the conference as we kick off the five best games you’ll tune in to this week.
5. Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills
Not many folks outside of the AFC will really care about this matchup but it’s one of the top games of the week for a reason. The Dolphins are Bills are both fighting for the final wild-card spot and this game will be one of the ultimate determinants. A loss for either team will just about count them out of playoff contention.
It’s a miracle that both of these teams came away with wins in Week 15. The Bills survived an Ice Bowl against the Indianapolis Colts in a game that saw more than a half a foot of snow dumped on to the ground. Less than 20 total passes were completed but all it took was one LeSean McCoy run to end the game. Somehow, Nathan Peterman plays better in the snow and overcame five interception debut earlier this season. Now Tyrod Taylor returns from injury and takes the reigns of the offense this Sunday.
The Dolphins surprised us all with a 27-20 upset over the New England Patriots on Monday night football. Jay Cutler needs to be tested because he played nothing like we’ve seen him play this season. He threw for three touchdowns and avoided any turnovers on the night. Running back Kenyan Drake continues to improve and will be a matchup problem for a vulnerable Bills’ front-seven. He’s taken advantage of every opportunity given since the Jay Ajayi trade.
No, we won’t see another blizzard but these two teams should match up evenly in a playoff-like game.
