We’re getting ready to see the Washington Redskins host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. Which team will prevail in this contest?

The Washington Redskins have already been mathematically eliminated from this season’s playoffs. But that doesn’t mean this team and several individuals don’t have something to play for.

In particular, there’s quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is in the final three games of his current contract with the franchise. Since taking over as the starter in 2015, he’s yet to miss a game. But he’s also eligible for free agency this offseason, unless the ‘Skins somehow get a long-term deal done before early March.

In any case, the task at hand on Sunday are the visiting Arizona Cardinals. Can Jay Gruden’s club rebound after consecutive losses to the Cowboys and Chargers?

Odds

Line: Redskins (-4.5)

Over/Under: 43.5

Washington is a 4.5-point home favorite this week (via OddsShark) as the club returns to FedExField for the first time since Thanksgiving night. It’s also worth noting that Gruden’s team has been a little too hospitable as of late. Dating back to the start of 2016, Washington owns a 7-7 record in its own building.

The Arizona Cardinals’ eighth-ranked defense has played better as of late but Arians’ team remains highly erratic on this side of the football. That should open the door for Cousins and the Washington Redskins’ attack, although the clubs has had its problems getting the ball into the end zone the last three weeks. Back in 2015, both of these teams were division champions. Now each is having its struggles. But that doesn’t mean this won’t be an entertaining affair.

Pick: Redskins 24, Cardinals 21
