Colin Kaepernick, Diddy and Steph Curry want to buy Panthers
Colin Kaepernick, Diddy and Steph Curry want to buy the Carolina Panthers, and that would give us the best ownership group of all time.
On Sunday, Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced that he would put the team up for sale after the season’s completion. Richardson, who has owned the team since it’s inaugural season in 1995, was accused of misconduct in the workplace in a sweeping piece by Sports Illustrated earlier in the day.
With the news, Sean “Diddy” Combs stated his interest in buying the club on Twitter. This brought a ton of attention, including from Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry, who declared that he would want to be part of the ownership group.
Then, on Monday morning, former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick stated that he would also like to be involved. The tweets below are in chronological order.

Could this actually happen? For starters, the team is not officially up for sale until the season is over, so we have some time to wait. Secondly, it’s not hard to see more people coming into the group and supplying additional funding. Michael Jordan is from North Carolina. Would he be willing to get involved? Just food or thought.
The NFL doesn’t have any black owners, so this would be a watershed moment in the league’s history. Diddy has been a tremendous businessman and Kaepernick has been incredibly philanthropic since playing his last NFL game in 2016. As for Curry, he might be the biggest pipe dream of the trio, considering he’s an active superstar in the NBA.
