The Carolina Panthers are going to be put up to be sold after this season. Rapper turned mogul Diddy is interested in buying the team and signing someone to compete with Cam Newton.

This weekend news broke that Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is being investigated by the NFL for workplace misconduct allegations.

After this news made waves Saturday and Sunday it was announced that Richardson will be putting the team up for sale following this season. Richardson, the Panthers only owner in their history, seemingly is attempting to get out ahead of any possible repercussions from these allegations.

Sean Diddy Combs, a former rapper and now a prominent figure throughout media, is throwing his hat in the ring to buy the team.

Not only does Diddy want to buy the team but he said he will also sign Colin Kaepernick.

Should Diddy get control of the “North Carolina Panthers,” as he calls the team, it seems like there could be a quarterback controversy. He wants Kaepernick to compete for the starting quarterback position.

Kaepernick, as many already know, is in a legal battle with the NFL. The former San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback is accusing the league of collusion to keep him from being signed to a new team. Kaepernick last played in the NFL in 2016 after opting out of his deal with the 49ers.

The Panthers have one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the NFL. Cam Newton is two years removed from winning NFL MVP. He is coming off a game where he threw four touchdowns to keep the Panthers in the playoff hunt.

We will have to wait and see if Diddy gets a shot at buying the Panthers. The team announced that the sale will not commence until the season ends. With Carolina looking likely for a playoff birth, their season will continue into 2018.

One thing is for sure from Diddy’s video. He will have the best halftime shows and best music selection. Given his network in music and entertainment, we can count on those two promises coming true.
