With the first Women’s Royal Rumble Match happening next month, who are some surprise entrants we could see? Here are three that could definitely show up.

The announcement of the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match has everybody buzzing. The news from Monday night has made plenty of waves with WWE fans everywhere. It’s been a long time coming for the ladies of WWE, and this is certainly the right time to make it happen. We’re going to finally get a one-on-one match at WrestleMania, guaranteed, for one of the Women’s Championships. Considering there hasn’t been a straight-up, one-on-one match in 12 years, it’s safe to say it’s long overdue.

The crowds are ready for it, the superstars are ready for it, so let’s get ready to dance, shall we? As of now, excluding the champions, there are 19 women who are set to compete in January — 10 from RAW and nine from SmackDown. That leaves some empty spots, if they are to go for the full 30. And there’s no reason for them not to. You could see some people from NXT show up, you could see some currently inactive roster members make an appearance, and some legends and surprises as well.

For the purpose of this, we’re looking at three ladies who we could definitely see show up in Philadelphia. This doesn’t include anyone from NXT, as they wouldn’t necessarily be “surprises” to much of the viewing audience. It also doesn’t include anyone who’s currently inactive or anyone who’s rumored to be in the match. So, there’s no Ronda Rousey on here, or Nikki or Brie Bella, who could show up as well.

Let’s take a look at a few people who we could see show up in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

Trish Stratus

What’s the first Women’s Royal Rumble without one of the greatest of all time?

As a surprise entrant, Trish Stratus absolutely fits the bill, and would be welcomed back graciously in Philadelphia. She’d no doubt get a huge pop from the crowd in the City of Brotherly Love, and she’s certainly not over the hill. Trish already teased that she wanted in on the match on Twitter. It makes too much sense for her not to be involved. It would be significant for her to be involved in this, as she’s hit so many milestones in her illustrious career. Bringing her back for the one-night-only Rumble match would be a good way of keeping that intact.

Some fun possibilities could come about if she were to dip herself into the pool. A stare down with Charlotte? An encounter with Sasha Banks? Sign me up. Working with Bayley? Reigniting her rivalry with Mickie James? It would be tons of fun. Trish could work with some of the younger talents in the match, as well. Can you imagine what it would do for them if they eliminated her? Instant star power. A Nia Jax, a Ruby Riott or a Mandy Rose, or anyone of that ilk would gain huge notoriety if they were able to eliminate Trish from the Rumble. There are plenty of positives of having her in the match. The booking, and what comes afterward, is absolutely one of them.

The list of surprises, frankly, begins with Trish Stratus. It would make too much sense for Stratus to be an entrant in the first Women’s Royal Rumble Match. The Rumble match, certainly, needs Stratusfaction.
