We’re getting ready to see the Los Angeles Chargers square off with the New York Jets. Which team will prevail in this contest?

The Los Angeles Chargers still have an outside shot at winning a division title this season. It’s safe to say that the latter will be extremely difficult as they stand one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. But they also dropped two games to Andy Reid’s team this year. So the Bolts need to continue to win AND get some help from the Chiefs.

The New York Jets aren’t headed to the playoffs. Their last appearance in the postseason came way back in 2010. But Todd Bowles’ club has been a very pleasant surprise this year and played solid football for the most part this season. The Green and White’s record may not be impressive but they’ve shown plenty of heart. Can they pull off the upset on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium?

Odds

Line: Chargers (-6.5)

Over/Under: 42.5

On the road for a second straight week, the Chargers are nearly a touchdown favorite to get their eighth win of the season. That info courtesy of OddsShark. But the over (42.5) looks awfully inviting this week.

Lynn’s team digressed a bit last week and those four turnovers undid the Los Angeles Chargers’ late-season surge. The Bolts are still alive for a playoff berth but will need an awful lot of help. As for the New York Jets, they came up with a big effort at New Orleans last week and their defense made its share of big plays. But the offense sputtered on too many occasions. The Chargers have more to play for here but Bowles’ pesky team isn’t going anywhere and will come up with its latest surprise.

Pick: Jets 26, Chargers 24
