With the No. 4 seed in the playoffs locked up, the Kansas City Chiefs will start Patrick Mahomes II in their NFL Week 17 matchup against Denver Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had an up and down NFL season thus far, but they did play well enough to clinch the AFC West title. On Sunday, the Chiefs will go on the road to take on the Denver Broncos, and with the No. 4 seed locked up for the AFC Playoffs, they will turn to Patrick Mahomes II to start at quarterback. Many Chiefs fans have been calling for Mahomes to replace incumbent starter Alex Smith all season long, so it will be interesting to see how he fares against the Broncos “No Fly Zone” secondary.

As we enter Week 17 of the NFL season, there are still three spots open in the playoff race. Two of the Wild Card spots in the AFC are still up for grabs, as well as one Wild Card spot in the NFC. With so many spots available, the NFL decided to move all those games to the 4:25 p.m. ET time slot, putting some extra drama into what is going to unfold on Sunday.

New York Giants safety Landon Collins went on the airwaves on ESPN New York and shredded second-year cornerback Eli Apple, calling him a “cancer.” On Wednesday, Apple’s dismal season came to an end, as the Giants suspended him for the final game of the campaign. This Giants team has been abysmal this season, and whoever they bring in to be the new general manager and head coach better turn this locker room around.

Since becoming the starting quarterback in San Francisco, Jimmy Garoppolo has won every start, and has the 49ers’ future looking pretty bright. His former mentor in New England could not be happier for him, as Tom Brady expressed how proud he was of Jimmy G earlier this week. Garoppolo was drafted by the Patriots, and has gotten to play under arguably the best quarterback in the history of football throughout his career, so it is no wonder he is bringing such a winning attitude to the Bay Area.

The Browns picked No. 1 overall last year as well, selecting defensive end Myles Garrett from Texas A&M. With their first pick in 2018, the Browns are likely to take a quarterback, and thanks to a trade they made with the Houston Texans during the 2017 NFL Draft, they also currently have the No. 4 pick as well.
