On Saturday night, two of college football’s top teams, Miami and Wisconsin, will go head-to-head in the 2017 Orange Bowl. It takes place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, FL, which won’t be a very long trip for the Hurricanes.

The Orange Bowl will be one of 2017’s final college football games, before 2018 arrives and the College Football Playoff starts. It’s a battle between two teams that lost their respective conference championship games, so someone will look to end their stride and finish the season strong.

The last time the Miami football team played, it was destroyed by Clemson 38-3 in the ACC Championship Game. This sent the Tigers to the College Football Playoff while Mark Richt’s team had nearly one month to sit on this loss.

Aside from this, Miami lost to Pittsburgh, which nearly collapsed its top four hopes.The Clemson decimation only added to the disastrous end to the 2017 regular season.

As for Wisconsin, it had a perfect regular season, albeit with a soft Big Ten schedule. This kept everyone critical of how good this team was, so it stayed on the CFP bubble for most of the final month.

Then came the Big Ten Championship Game. This put the Badgers’ undefeated record on the line, with Ohio State as the challenger. Unfortunately for Wisconsin, this resulted in a loss, dropped them out of the top four and led to a spot in the Orange Bowl.
