The Fiesta Bowl is going to be a good one this year. Saquon Barkley and Penn State take on Jake Browning and the Washington Huskies.

In years past, the Fiesta Bowl has proved to be one of college football’s premier bowl games. That should be no different on Dec. 30, 2017. The 2017 edition of the Fiesta Bowl is primed to be one of the best New Year’s Six games this bowl season. A lot of that has to do with the star power featured in the matchup. Representing the Big Ten are the Penn State Nittany Lions, while the Pac-12 will have the Washington Huskies.

By now, you know how good Saquon Barkley and the Penn State offense are. The dynamic running back rushed for over 1,100 yards and scooped up 16 touchdowns while running at a 5.7 yards per attempt clip. Trace McSorley is no slouch either, as the Nittany Lions quarterback had arguably the best season of his career in 2017. He threw for 26 touchdowns and just eight interceptions while averaging 8.36 yards per attempt. One of his favorite targets was tight end Mike Gesicki, who caught a team-high nine touchdowns and will certainly be one to watch.

Washington might not have the star power that Penn State does, but don’t overlook the Huskies. This is one of the best passing offenses in the country. Jake Browning didn’t have the year he had in 2016, but he was still markedly efficient. He completed 68.8 percent of his passes while being sacked only 15 times. His favorite target was the superb Dante Pettis, who caught 62 passes for 721 yards and seven touchdowns. Myles Gaskin was a threat on the ground and catching the ball, too. He accumulated over 1,500 yards from scrimmage this season. He will certainly be on display in Glendale. Additionally, UW’s defense will prove mighty against Penn State. So we’ll see if the explosive PSU offense can handle the vaunted Husky D.
