The current Cardinals offensive coordinator is the most likely candidate to remain with the team. Despite the team’s struggle some credit needs to be given to Harold Goodwin. The team was missing their starting running back and quarterback and still was in some games down the stretch. Goodwin even made Blaine Gabbert competent for a couple weeks.

The former offensive lineman started his career in college. His first NFL job was with the Chiacgo Bears as an assistant offensive line coach. He bounced from Chicago to Pittsburgh to Indianapolis controlling offensive lines along the way.

The Cardinals hired Goodwin as their offensive coordinator four years ago. It has been his first stint as a coordinator. It was a good landing spot for Goodwin. Partnering with Bruce Arians allowed Goodwin to control the elements he could while Arians called the plays.

Arizona could opt to roll with Goodwin to keep the continuity of the offense. He clearly knows the personnel and their strengths/weaknesses.

However, if Arizona decides to opt for a rebuild, which is looking likely than it makes sense for the entire Arians’ regime to go. Goodwin could pick up steam as a candidate elsewhere but is most likely to be a coordinator in his next stop.
