The LSU Tigers are set to meet the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day and here’s how you can watch the game online.
Start 2018 off on the right foot and ring in the new year with a day full of college football bowl games on New Year’s Day. The Citrus Bowl is always one of the most-anticipated bowl games of the season and this year is no different with the No. 17 LSU Tigers taking on the No. 14 Notre Dame Fighting Irish from Orlando’s Camping World Stadium at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Notre Dame enters this game having lost two of their last three games of the year while LSU ended the season on a three-game winning streak after losing to No. 2 Alabama on Nov. 4. The month off should be a hard enough reset that the outcomes of those games have little bearing when the two powerhouse programs clash on Monday.
I’ll be watching to see how Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush handles himself against the defense that Dave Aranda draws up as LSU boasts a nasty defense that can force him into some bad decisions. The offense will run through running back Josh Adams who has put up big numbers running behind a line led by Quenton Nelson and Mike McGlinchey, two players expected to be first round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. Helping the Notre Dame run game will be the fact that LSU is down three linebackers due to injury. But Notre Dame is also not the picture of health and will be without receivers Kevin Stepherson and Chase Claypool and tight ends Alize Mack and Brock Wright.
Much like Notre Dame will lean on the run game, the same will be true for LSU who will have Derrius Guice playing after missing some bowl practices with a knee injury. He could have sat out and prepared his body for the upcoming NFL Draft, but he will suit up for what’s expected to be his final game before declaring early for the draft.
