Georgia’s Davin Bellamy had some parting advice for the defeated Baker Mayfield.
Sometimes we have to learn how to humble ourselves, which is what Georgia’s Davin Bellamy reminded the defeated Baker Mayfield after the Bulldog’s stunning upset of the Sooners in the 2018 Rose Bowl.
While Mayfield was congratulating the Bulldog players after the game, the Georgia linebacker made sure to get a point across to Mayfield. “Humble yourself!” he repeatedly shouted until being pulled to the side by a Fox 5 Atlanta reporter.

So why did Bellamy decide to utter those thoughtful words to a dejected Mayfield? He explained himself to reporters below:

You know what, Bellamy has a point.
Throughout his college career, the flamboyant Mayfield has been known for his antics, but he seemingly turned it up 10 notches this year. First, there was the OU flag plant in the middle of the “O” at Ohio Stadium following the Sooners win over the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Then, there was the not-so-subtle gesture to the Kansas Jayhawks bench that caught the eye of college football fans everywhere. Some are even comparing him to Johnny Manziel, the beleaguered QB who was a star in college but succumbed to his party side that basically got him kicked out of the NFL.
We’re not saying that Mayfield will be like Manziel, but he has some similar traits to him, and that caught the attention of Bellamy, which led to him shouting at Mayfield to “humble himself” because his antics won’t be tolerated at the NFL level.
In the end, Bellamy didn’t say anything that the rest of America was thinking when we saw Mayfield walk off the field in Pasadena in defeat. With the NFL calling, it’s time for Mayfield to humble himself and carry himself in a better light than what he displayed this season.
