Isaiah Thomas will finally hit the court against the Blazers on Tuesday.

Isaiah Thomas will finally make his season debut on Jan. 2, and Cleveland Cavalier fans have taken to Twitter to express their sheer joy.

Thomas, who was the centerpiece of the trade that sent beloved star Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics, will finally get a chance to prove that he can be a huge asset to the Cavs’ championship hopes.

Granted, Cleveland was already the East’s lone favorite to get back to the NBA Finals. Boston is their closest competitor, but it remains to be seen if Kyrie can carry that talented but young team all the way to the top of Mount NBA. Cleveland already possesses the most dangerous all-around player in NBA history in LeBron James and a cast of characters who know what it takes to bring home the golden bacon.

Thomas will only complete them as he will relieve James of the pressure of carrying Cleveland’s already explosive offense. Thomas has long been one of the NBA’s best scoring guards, especially for his size, but it was when he landed in Boston where folks finally began to take notice of his talent.

Thomas is basically a shorter version of Kyrie. He can get into the lane with ease and also let it fly from deep. Where Irving has an edge over Thomas is defense, but while IT may not be a great one-on-one defender, he can sure clog up passing lanes and get steals,

To say that Cavs fans are an excited bunch in New Year’s Day is kind of an understatement. Check out these tweets:

Yes, Cavs Nation is pumped to finally have Thomas pair up with James to help bring Cleveland its second championship. With Isaiah now in the fold, the Cavs’ road to the NBA Finals looks like the Yellow Brick Road, and they should ease on down that road.
