As we move into conference season it’s time to start rolling out conference Power Rankings. Here’s a look at the best in the ACC.

ACC basketball got rolling this past weekend, and it did not disappoint. 14 of the ACC’s 15 teams got to play this weekend. The exception was Louisville, which played in its annual rivalry game against Kentucky. Despite that, it is never too early for some ACC power rankings.

We saw a quartet of very interesting games involving the best teams in the conference. Wake Forest took North Carolina down to the wire at the Dean Dome. Hero-ball prevented an upset. We also saw Georgia Tech take it to Notre Dame for a large chunk of the game, but the quality of the Fighting Irish prevailed. Boston College almost capped off another upset, making things very tight with Virginia.

The best game, though, was between Duke and Florida State. It was an incredibly high scoring game that saw Marvin Bagley III take over. The Seminoles had no answer for him, despite an incredible day shooting from deep. Bagley and Wendell Carter lifted Duke to the 100-93 win.

Each team apart from Duke and Louisville has played just 1 game so far, so we cannot overthink these rankings too much.
