NFL Wild Card 2018: Announcer pairings
By Joe Romano
The NFL playoffs are here with Wild Card games kicking off this weekend.
With four games on tap this weekend, the NFL is entering it’s post season play. Fans of the NFL will have to jump around a bit to find each game. There are interesting matchups on the field and the crews working each game will be intriguing as well.
This is a rare instance in the NFL where we are getting some new playoff blood. There are eight teams that did not make the post season a year ago appearing this year. All but two will be playing this weekend.
We may also be seeing Jon Gruden’s last game as an analyst. Reports are surfacing that Gruden will be taking over as head coach of the Oakland Raiders.
Dallas Cowboys fans may be missing out on seeing their team in action but they will get to hear two former quarterbacks on the mic; Tony Romo on CBS and Troy Aikman on FOX.
The action kicks off on Saturday, January 6 with two games starting later in the day. There will then be two games on Sunday, January 7 which will feel familiar with the start times lining up with the regular season.
