LaVar Ball showed up in Lithuania and got the C3PO-Ewok treatment.

Remember in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, when the rebels were on the planet Endor? Han Solo and Luke were captured by the Ewoks only to find out that C3PO was basically being worshipped as a God. Well, 35 years later we have LaVar Ball getting that same treatment except without, you know, the whole galactic war (yet).

Ball’s two youngest kids are now playing professionally in Lithuania after LaMelo was removed from Chino Hills High School, and Liangelo was removed from UCLA after being suspended. I guess it’s safe to say that the Lithuanian press is ready for some Ball action.

There’s probably only a handful of people on the entire planet that can attract this kind of media circus. The President, the Pope, the Queen of England, probably the Kardashians after some kind of drama and possibly prime Paris Hilton. If you didn’t live in Chino Hills or the surrounding areas you probably didn’t even know who LaVar was about three years ago.

In essentially a three-year time span he’s managed to become one of the most polarizing figures in sports, and quite honestly it’s probably the most incredible display of marketing and self promotion I’ve ever seen. Ball is like Bitcoin; he slowly made his way on the scene, and it didn’t take long before he blew up and now everyone wants a piece of the Ball family.

As for LaMelo and LiAngelo they will make their debuts in Lithuania on Jan. 9 and they are expected to play a big role on their new team. LaVar’s ultimate goal is to get all three of his sons to the Lakers, and who knows maybe win a few titles just so he can never let us hear the end of it. The real question here is where can one find a stream of their first game? I don’t have the answer to that, but someone should get on that.

Also if you were unaware, Amazon will be selling the Ball brother’s authentic Lithuanian jerseys. It’s all a part of the plan I guess.
