2018 NFL Mock Draft: Baker Mayfield to Bills
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears suffered through another tough campaign in 2017, and because of that, their head coach was shown the door. The Bears fired John Fox after three subpar seasons, though the season was not all a loss. Rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was able to gain valuable experience throughout the year, and will head into next season with much more weapons that he did in 2017.
One of his best targets was gone for the entire season, as Cameron Meredith was injured during the preseason. As Trubisky started to find his groove, he lost his best active weapon, as Zach Miller also was injured for the rest of the campaign. With their first round pick next April, the Bears have to bring in more talent at the wideout position, and Courtland Sutton could be the first wide receiver off the board.
Sutton plays for SMU, so he does not get a ton of publicity. However, if you have ever seen him play, you will notice he is a big kid who is not afraid to go over the middle and get the ball. The NFC North is loaded with talent teams, and the Bears have been a doormat for some time now, but that could change with a big offseason. Trading up for Trubisky was a smart move, now they have to go out and get the pieces of the puzzle to help him succeed.
