We may not know who will be playing in Super Bowl LII but we know how the game will start.

The Super Bowl is more than just a football game. The spectacle surrounding the game is highlighted by the major stars that attach themselves to the game in different ways.

This year one of those stars will be music star P!NK. The singer was announced as the game’s National Anthem singer by the NFL. P!NK has been relevant and a star for the better part of a decade.

P!NK will already be in Minneapolis for a tour date the week before the Super Bowl. It made sense for the league to grab a big name star and for the star herself to partner with the NFL.

She will join other stars like Luke Bryant, Idina Menzel, Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga who have performed the kick off song for the NFL’s biggest games. Lady Gaga actually performed two years ago and was asked back the following year to perform the much more hyped halftime show. Her performance was generally well receiver a year ago.

We already are aware that renaissance man Justin Timberlake will be the halftime performer for the game. He will look to rebound from his last Super Bowl performance. The infamous moment with Janet Jackson will surely be a story line leading up the game.

P!NK and Justin Timberlake are a power duo. This is in line with the NFL’s recent choices of acts like Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Coldplay and Katy Perry. The league grabs the biggest stars in music and thrusts them onto the biggest stage.

Next: Post Wild Card Mock Draft

Interesting enough Timberlake and P!NK have toured before as part of a previous tour for one of Timberlake’s albums. Being a solo act on the Super Bowl is rare, so we could see the two collaborate during the game’s big break in action as well.
