5 possible destinations for Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge
4. West Ham
The Hammers have been much improved under David Moyes. A win over Chelsea headlines a list of good results after such a bad start to the season. Most recently, a draw against Tottenham has West Ham full of confidence in improving their current position in the table. But the club still need a consistent goalscorer. Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll haven’t been able to provide that this season.
Sturridge was linked with a move to east London during the summer, but the move never materialized. With West Ham more desperate now, a move could make a lot of sense for both sides. The Hammers have a lot more talent on their roster than their 15th-place position suggests. While they lack stability at the back, Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic are exciting players up front.
Sacrificing being at a top club is again an issue here. Giving up Champions League games and being in a top four race to battle relegation is not the most exciting of propositions. Perhaps a loan move would be ideal, but signs are pointing to West Ham escaping the drop zone so a permanent move under the right circumstances could also make sense.
Sturridge is a brilliant finisher and a pacey option up top, a stark contrast to Andy Carroll. The English striker could bring balance to the West Ham attack and could likely win a starting job fairly easily.
