2018 National Signing Day could set the stage for the next few years in college football, so when will the unsigned recruits will make their decisions?

There’s no questioning the importance of National Signing Day. While superficially it may seem like 17- and 18-year old young men being paraded in front of cameras as they make important decisions about their future, college football fans know it’s much more. Put simply, it’s the day where the future of the sport — at least the immediate future — starts to take shape.

While the majority of the top 150 recruits in the country have already committed, there are still a good many that have decisions to make. And of those, most will make their choices come 2018 National Signing Day. There are just over 25 players in the top 150 overall recruits that are left to make the decision of where they’ll play college football.

Perhaps the biggest name yet to commit is Patrick Surtain Jr., the son of former NFL great Patrick Surtain. The cornerback has offers from every major college football program in the country, as you’d suspect from a cornerback who’s over 6-foot-1 and has great skills and athletic ability. It appears as though he’s leaning towards LSU, but you never know when National Signing Day rolls around.

Outside of Surtain, though, there are still plenty of other high-level recruits that will make their decision when the day rolls around. Thus, college football fans will want to be keyed in on the guys that can potentially have massively positive effects on their program. So then, when is 2018 National Signing Day?
