NBA Mock Draft: Jaren Jackson Jr. could help end the Magic’s never-ending rebuild
Bonga could be a Ben Simmons-type long, athletic passer, and could add a jumper to Simmons’ package eventually as well. His frame is wire-thin and he predictably struggles to finish, but combines outlier skills for his size with incredible length athleticism.
Unfortunately, Bonga has only put up six points per game on 37 percent shooting since graduating to Fraport’s senior team. He just doesn’t have the size to compete against older and stronger players like those he sees in Germany. The NBA is a long way away for Bonga, but if a team were to pull the trigger early, it could be Brooklyn.
Brooklyn has an interesting young core and could afford to wait on a young player with a high ceiling. Guys like Cincinnati’s Jacob Evans or Kentucky’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander may appeal more to other teams in this spot, but Bonga makes sense in Brooklyn’s program.
