NFL announces schedule for London in 2018

The National Football League announced the three games that will be shipped off to London for the 2018 regular season. For once, they’re good contests.

After years of giving London some of the worst games imaginable, the NFL is finally sending over some very intriguing matchups. The slate is three games long again, as it has been in recent years.

This time around, the Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers will be acting as the host teams, taking on the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans, respectively.

For Oakland and Los Angeles, this is tough. The two teams will have to travel all the way across the United States before flying over the Atlantic Ocean to land in England. The same can be said for the Seahawks, but at least this counts as a road game for them.

It’s unclear when these games will be played, as we won’t know the schedule until some time in April. Still, it stands to reason that all of the contests will take place from late-September to mid-November if history holds true.

Of all the games, the best has to be the Raiders and Seahawks. On one hand, you have Russell Wilson and that terrific defense (if it doesn’t get blown up this offseason). On the other, you have Jon Gruden and Derek Carr trying to get the Raiders back into the playoffs, hoping for a Super Bowl run.

Even Jacksonville and Philadelphia should be awesome, with two 2017 playoff teams getting to battle it out. If the Jaguars have a new starting quarterback by that point, all the better.
