2018 NFL Mock Draft: Giants land Sam Darnold
By Brad Weiss
In one of the more surprising moves of this offseason, the Cincinnati Bengals decided to bring back head coach Marvin Lewis. In his 15 seasons with the team, Lewis has yet to win a playoff game as head coach, so it was expected that a bad season could cost him his job. Well, the Bengals stunk, but that did not stop the front office from locking him up on a two-year extension.
Regardless of who is the head coach of the Bengals, the real issue is that the roster needs a lot of help. Sure, they have a ton of talent at some of the skill positions, but getting better up front on both sides of the ball has to be a priority at this point. The 2018 NFL Draft is loaded with solid offensive lineman talent, and Mike McGlinchey from Notre Dame has to be considered at the top of the class.
McGlinchey teamed with fellow possible first-rounder Quenton Nelson to give the Fighting Irish the best offensive line group in all of college football this past season. A mountain of a man, McGlinchey has the size, and footwork to stay on the left side at the next level. Andy Dalton is a solid quarterback, and Joe Mixon played well as a rookie, so getting them some extra bodies up front should make the Bengals and improved team in 2018.
