Alexis Sanchez

Recent reports indicate Manchester City have dropped out of the race to sign Alexis Sanchez, and that Chelsea and Manchester United now are battling for him. Chelsea may have a legitimate shot at landing the Chilean superstar for a couple reasons. Sanchez clearly wants out of Arsenal, it. Why not stay in London?

His wage demands are a bit excessive — he reportedly wants north of £300k a week — but he’s one of very few player who would justify that sort of outlay. Despite the money issue, Sanchez would be a terrific addition to the roster and could create a new three-headed monster in the Premier League. Joining Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata up front, Chelsea could field arguably the best attacking trio in the league.

Sanchez can also play for Chelsea in the Champions League, meaning he’d be eligible to play against his former club, Barcelona, in the round of 16. His experience, and talent, are world-class. If Chelsea can find a way to land Sanchez, they need to throw all available resources at him. He would be a wonderful signing and would significantly sharpen Chelsea’s attack.
