A Boston TV station might want to double check whoever is running their social media account after this mistake.

New England erupted in cheers after the Patriots erased a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Jaguars 24-20. The Patriots secured a trip to the Super Bowl for the eighth time in the Brady-Belichick era and it couldn’t have come in a more exciting game.

Patriots nation was so excited that they couldn’t contain themselves. Even one Boston TV station forgot to double-check their photo archives after the game.

The WCVB-TV Twitter account sent out their regular postgame recap, but this one was a little different. The featured image was a bit outdated and showed former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez playing in a game against the Jaguars.

The tweet was swiftly deleted minutes after but it was a glaring mistake. If there’s one player that you couldn’t make that mistake with, it was Hernandez.

After what was thought to be a promising career for the young tight end, Hernandez found himself on the wrong side of the law. He was charged with first-degree murder after the involvement in a shooting that led to the death of friend Odin Lloyd. Hernandez was sentenced to life in prison in April of 2015, before taking his own life just two years later. Brain scans later found serious effects of CTE and it will forever be one of the more interesting sports stories in history.

While it was likely an honest mistake that was overlooked, it’s crazy to think there weren’t more recent photos available, especially after the game just concluded.

No matter how the Patriots fare in the Super Bowl come February 4th, news stations alike will make sure they have an assortment of images available to use that don’t involve Hernandez.
