NBA Power Rankings: The Clippers keep coming
By Daniel Lewis
Philadelphia nearly coughed up a 21-point lead to the Raptors on Monday, with seven turnovers in the fourth quarter, but managed to pull together in the final minutes to hold on for a 117-111 victory. Joel Embiid had 34 points and 11 rebounds, and they rallied after Toronto brought the score to 102-101 with three minutes left. J.J. Redick had to leave the game with an injury to his left leg, which doctors diagnosed later on as bone edema and a crack in his fibula — he’ll be reevaluated after the upcoming week, but the 76ers are going to miss his perimeter scoring.
Embiid celebrated earning an All-Star bid by scoring 26 while grabbing 16 rebounds against the Celtics, helping carry his team to a 89-80 win on the road. The whole team was more physical than the last time they faced off against each other, after giving up a 22-point lead. Philly was able to hop over Milwaukee in the standings thanks to a 116-94 dressing down of the Bucks on Saturday, with Embiid dropping in 29 points against an overmatched Milwaukee frontcourt, who were without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Malcolm Brogdon.
