Coming into 2017, the Green Bay Packers had to be considered a favorite to win the NFC. The year before, they made a tremendous run towards the NFC Championship Game, only to get blown out by the Atlanta Falcons. The season was going fine, until star quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone, which essentially eliminated them from the playoffs very early in the season.

While the offense should be fine next season, this team needs to get better on defense. One area where they have shown vulnerability in recent years is in the secondary, and that is where they should use their first round pick this April. Focusing on the cornerback position, Josh Jackson from Iowa looks to be the first one off the board, and the Packers could get a special one if they decide to pick him at No. 14.

Jackson led the FBS in interceptions last season, capping off his season with a pick in the Pinstripe Bowl. He is the closest thing to a shutdown cornerback this draft class has to offer, although it is very close between him and Denzel Ward. The Packers need to be better against the pass, and bringing in a guy like Jackson would take away one side of the field next season, as they look to get back to the playoffs after a year off.
