The Cavaliers are reeling currently, and don’t have the roster to beat Golden State in the Finals. That could prompt LeBron James to leave Cleveland once again. If Dan Gilbert wants to keep that from happening he’s going to have to appease The King by the trade deadline.

The Cleveland Cavaliers currently hold the three seed in the Eastern Conference, but they’re lucky to even have that position. The Cavs are reeling right now, and most recently got stomped by the Oklahoma City Thunder at home giving up 148 points. It was the most points a LeBron James led team had ever given up.

The rule of thumb in the NBA is if you have James you are automatically in contention for a title. He’s made seven straight Finals, and is looking to make it an eighth this season. While their roster is good enough to win the Eastern Conference, they’re definitely not beating the Warriors in a seven-game series.

The goal for the front office is to keep James happy, and make him want to stay in Cleveland. If that means using the Brooklyn Nets pick they acquired in the Kyrie Irving trade then so be it because it won’t matter if they have James next season.

With that in mind here’s five trades the Cavs can make to keep James happy in Cleveland.
