The teams for the All-Star Game have now been picked, and LeBron James should be proud of the selections he made.

If you haven’t heard yet, the All-Star Game’s format changed this year, and it will be interesting to see whether the NBA continues like this or not. The two leading vote-getters got to draft their team pickup style, and this season those gentlemen were named LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

The league decided not to televise the draft, which was a huge ratings mistake. However, there were a lot of players who pushed back against the idea, and we all know that Adam Silver is the type of commissioner who listens to his employees.

Team LeBron is going to be deadly, and you might be surprised by the selections. The starters will be Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and Kyrie Irving.

The last name on that list might shock you, but you have to account for the fact that LeBron had the last pick from the starters since he picked (probably Kevin Durant) first. It is also unlikely that Curry would draft Irving, when he knows full well that it will be hilarious and awkward to watch James have to interact with his former point guard all weekend.

The bench for LeBron’s team includes Bradley Beal, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, Victor Oladipo, Kristaps Porzingis and John Wall. Team LeBron has a lot of size when it comes to the starters, and a lot of speed and shooting when you look at the bench.

That should make for a nice change of pace, and the players on Curry’s team will also have to contend with a lot of LeBron-Durant pick-and-rolls, and I don’t envy them that responsibility. It will be a fun game no matter what, but let’s hope for a little bit more defense than last year.
