5 best FA Cup matches to watch: Manchester United travel to Yeovil
2. Chelsea vs. Newcastle
One of Sunday’s two games sees Chelsea entertaining Newcastle in what could be a very exciting match. The Blues only just came through a very tough replay against Norwich on penalties while Newcastle comfortably beat Luton.
This will obviously be a much bigger test for the Magpies and their Cup run could come to an end here. Chelsea’s busy schedule could come to Rafa Benitez’s side’s aid, though, as they look to pull off an upset at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have had midweek games in the past three weeks because of their replay with Norwich and their Carabao Cup games with Arsenal. Antonio Conte has a strong squad at his disposal but fitness could prove to be an issue towards the end of this match.
If Newcastle are to win they will need to stand firm for the game’s opening 30 minutes. If they concede in that period their heads will drop and Chelsea will pick them off. Ross Barkley played his first Chelsea match in midweek and he will be looking for another start here in order to impress.
The added allure of the FA Cup should give the Newcastle players more fight and it could have a different affect on Benitez’s game plan. He may decide to go for it at some stage as a draw probably doesn’t suit his side.
Whatever happens, this should be a very exciting match and it’s a great way to kick off your Sunday.
