Chelsea, sitting in third place in the Premier League, are only three points behind Manchester United. With a win against Bournemouth, Chelsea could catch United if the Red Devils lose against Tottenham on Wednesday. The Blues have had some drama surrounding them, mostly concerning the transfer window. With all the rumors circulating, it can be hard to maintain focus. However, Chelsea controlled their FA Cup match against Newcastle on Sunday and triumphed by a score of 3-0. This could serve as a confidence booster, or more of a refocusing for the Blues. Either way, they’re the clear favorites at home against Bournemouth.

Bournemouth are only three points clear of the drop zone. The Cherries are in need of points to distance themselves from the relegation battle. Joshua King is the key for Bournemouth and will need to have a great game if they want to upset Chelsea. If Bournemouth can play solid defensively and keep Chelsea’s scoring to a minimum, they have a real chance at earning a draw at the least. The Blues had a large scoring drought prior to putting four past Brighton, maybe Bournemouth can kick start another.
