2018 NFL mock draft: Baker Mayfield heads to Jets
By Brad Weiss
The Baltimore Ravens needed only to win at home in Week 17 to make it to the AFC Playoffs, and they were welcoming a pretty bad Cincinnati Bengals team to town. Well, the Ravens played one of their worst games of the season, and their run outside of the playoffs continued. This team needs to get better on the offensive side of the ball if they want to make a playoff run next season, as their defense still has the talent to get it done.
Quarterback Joe Flacco has not been the same player since winning the Super Bowl six years ago, and that has stunted this team’s growth. However, he also has not had a ton of weapons in the passing game, and that is where they should draft in the first round in April. James Washington had a standout career during his time at Oklahoma State, and has that game breaking ability this team has been lacking over the past couple of seasons.
Guys like Mike Wallace and Jeremy Maclin are nice complimentary players, but they are no longer WR1s at this point. Washington could lead this group next season, as he has the ability to take the lid off the defense on any play. Baltimore has the talent to win the AFC North next season, and a couple more pieces on the offense could make them a team to beat for the next few seasons.
