Burnley have been dealt a tough hand with their recent run of games. A midweek trip to St. James’ Park has been sandwiched between home matches against the top two teams in the Premier League, Manchester United and Manchester City.
The Clarets have been proving pundits wrong all season and almost continued that trend when Manchester United came to visit. They would’ve escaped with at least a point if not for an impeccable Anthony Martial finish.
City are a different animal altogether, though, and their all out attacking style of play will face their extreme counterpart in Sean Dyche’s rigid, structured and defensive Burnley side.
Pep Guardiola’s side are playing their third game in six days. The stretch started with an FA Cup fourth round tie against Cardiff City where they left Wales with a solid 2-0 victory. Their midweek match against West Brom ended 3-0. It’s clear that City are back to winning ways and have recovered from their loss to Liverpool.
