Here are five things that you may have missed during the NBA week.

It seems as though the NBA is traveling down the same path as the NFL thus far. Not by mixing politics with sports, national anthem controversies or rules debates. Rather, a more unfortunate topic than those previously mentioned. The NBA has an injury problem and much like the NFL, it’s taking away from the competitiveness of the league. Now, that’s pretending there isn’t a drop off from the top teams and everybody else. However, it’s some of the top teams being hit by injury issues and that’s becoming a bit of an issue. Sadly, this isn’t a problem that can be fixed with the snap of a finger either. Yes, injuries happen and they’re a part of sports, but c’mon. Football season has already been taken from many of us, don’t take basketball away from us too, sports gods.

Fortunately, NBA fans do have something to keep themselves busy and their minds off injuries for a short period of time — trades. Blockbuster trades are already beginning to take place as the trade deadline nears. The Pistons kicked things off on Monday, but who will be involved in the next scene-shifting trade? Assuming there’s more (there always is).

Luckily for us fans, the NBA never fails to entertain. Regardless of who gets injured, the league power(s) forward (pun intended). We’re nearing the mid-way point of the season and things are about to get good. But for now, let’s enjoy the present where the NBA is treating us with petty feuds, out-of-nowhere blockbuster moves and the best basketball on this great planet. Here are five things you may have missed from around the NBA this week.
