2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
Silently, Hawks University is developing a rival a few hundred miles north, and that program could turn someone like Simons into a stud.
I’m talking about the Nets, who take guards and just flip them into valuable players like it’s nothing. Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie and Sean Kilpatrick all came into Brooklyn’s system unproven and very young. Each emerged as a player that other teams wanted, adding shooting and smarts that don’t come easily.
Kenny Atkinson and Sean Marks have turned the Nets into a team that makes young players better. Simons is someone will need a lot of work. The pairing makes a ton of sense.
Simons is also a great fit in terms of what the model has become for Nets developmental projects. He can already shoot the lights out, and his relatively big frame means he could be a more versatile player later in his career.
The Nets could find their next Dinwiddie right away this summer.
