The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the league’s busiest team at the trade deadline. With more moves to be made, Kendrick Perkins could be rejoining the Cavs.

My oh my, this year’s NBA trade deadline has been one of the most active in recent memory. With many players trading uniforms, no team has been busier than the Cleveland Cavaliers. With six players out and four players in, the Cavs will be a completely new team by the end of the day.

Cleveland new roster is shaping up as follows:

PG – George Hill, Jordan Clarkson

SG – J.R. Smith, Rodney Hood, Kyle Korver

SF – LeBron James, Cedi Osman

PF – Larry Nance Jr., Jeff Green

C – Love, Tristan

Cleveland has also shipped out Isaiah Thomas, Iman Shumpert, Derrick Rose, Jae Crowder, Channing Frye, Dwayne Wade and their first-round pick. But, it doesn’t look like the Cavs are done adding to their roster.

As reported by the New York Times’ Mark Stein, the Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in using one of their freed up roster spots to bring back Center Kendrick Perkins.

The addition of Perkins to the new look Cavs makes sense, but also is a bit confusing. The team is in dire need of help at the center position, but Perkins has been out of the league for a year and has contemplated retiring.

There are a few teams around the league that the Cavs could’ve contacted to help supplement their center position without rolling the dice that Perkins still is an NBA-caliber player. The New York Knicks, for instance, have made it clear that center Kyle O’Quinn is available and he has garnered interest from several teams around the league. He probably could’ve been acquired for very little and he is a proved player who has been quietly putting up solid numbers on a poor Knicks squad.

Regardless, the Cavs are linked to Kendrick Perkins who would be rejoining the team after spending the 2014-15 season with them.
