Los Angeles Clippers guard Avery Bradley has emerged as a possible trade deadline target for the San Antonio Spurs. If traded, this would be Bradley’s second trade in a week and a half.

On Jan. 29, Avery Bradley was apart of the Blake Griffin trade package that sent Bradley to the L.A. Clippers, and Griffin to the Detroit Pistons. After playing a few games with the Clippers, Bradley’s name has appeared in trade talks yet again. The San Antonio Spurs are currently looking for perimeter depth and scoring to replace Kawhi Leonard’s production. Per Marc Stein, the Spurs are looking at Bradley as an ideal trade target to fill that role. It doesn’t hurt that Bradley is a superb defender, which fits right into the Spurs niche.

SB Nation writer Michael D. Sykes II evaluated the possible trade scenario for the Spurs and Bradley. He concluded that Bradley could help the Spurs improve their already-stellar defensive rating, and provide solid guard play/add depth to Danny Green.

"The Spurs already have a 101.6 defensive rating, which puts them at second in the league behind the Celtics. Bradley might be the player who can put them over that hump. They’re missing a solid guard who can play behind Danny Green without giving up too much on defense.Bryn Forbes and Patty Mills have been solid off the bench in spots but Bradley adds more depth, experience and defense behind Dejounte Murray, Danny Green and Tony Parker."

Next: Andrew Luck, not Josh McDaniels, should be Indy's worry

If Bradley does get traded, it would be his third team in a week and a half. But for Bradley, the Spurs style of play fits into his. Just like last season when he played for the Boston Celtics, the Spurs will provide stability, a good offensive system and a culture that preaches defense. All that’s left to do now is to see if the Spurs will execute the trade.
