Figure skater Adam Rippon made his Olympics debut at the 2018 Winter Olympics men’s team free skate event on the final night of the team competition.

Olympic Athletes From Russia skater Mikhail Kolyada skated to a medley from Elvis Presley. Wearing a skating version of one of Elvis’s trademark jumpsuits, the Russian thrilled the audiences with a routine that was mostly spotless with only two red and two yellow marks. He finished with a 173.57.

Italy’s Matteo Rizzo skated to a medley from The Beatles, ending his routine with “Help.” But he didn’t need any help for this skate, which was clean the whole way through. He ended up with a score of 156.11 to put him in 2nd place.

“Third time’s the charm, baby.” Adam Rippon hit the ice for his first Olympics following Team OAR and Team Italy. Rippon, who skated to a medley of various artists, went for a clean skate to ensure a solid score for the team event. He opened with a trip flip-triple loop combination that was perfect, and his entire performance was green. He was visibly overcome after finishing his program. He finished with a 172.98, good for 2nd place after his skate.

Rounding out the competition was Canada and Japan. Canada’s Patrick Chan, skating to “Hallelujah,” had a fall in his performance but still ended with 179.75 because he landed his quads, while Rippon didn’t attempt any quads. His score put Chan in 1st place and gave him the highest score of the season. Japan’s Keiji Tanaka doubled a few jumps meant to be triples, and he finished with 148.36.
