2018 NFL mock draft: Saquon Barkley heads to Giants
By Brad Weiss
The Jacksonville Jaguars spent a lot of money prior to the 2016 NFL season, and the hope was they could finally build a winner. While the 2016 season was a waste, the 2017 season certainly was not, as the Jaguars made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game. The team utilized an elite defensive unit, and a stellar rushing attack led by Leonard Fournette, as they upset the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Divisional Round on the road.
While the dream ended in New England the following week, one thing is for sure, and that is the Jaguars are a team to be reckoned with next season. Quarterback Blake Bortles is not someone you build a franchise around, but he should still around next season, as the focus will solely be on running the football. If the team wants Fournette to build on his solid rookie season, they need to get better between the tackles, and Isaiah Wynn from Georgia can help them do just that.
During his time with the Bulldogs, Wynn was used all over the line, but he should be a standout player at the guard position at the next level. He has incredible size, and is one of the better run blockers this draft class has to offer. This offense is going to be based around Fournette for years to come, so it makes sense that they would use their 2018 first round pick on a guard when they pick in April.
