If you’re a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan, you might find the room getting a little dusty when watching his new Goodyear ad.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. might be done with his NASCAR driving days (or almost done, as he still has an XFINITY Series race or two to drive in), but that doesn’t mean we’re going to all of a sudden stop seeing him. Not only is Junior slated to join the NBC broadcast team for the second half of the 2018 NASCAR season, he’s still going to be prominently featured in commercials for various companies.

One of them is Goodyear, who released a pretty cool new ad that you can see below. Set to the Jim Croce song “I Got a Name,” the 60-second spot features a bunch of Dale Jr. clips that show Earnhardt as a boy, early in his NASCAR career in the then-Busch Seriesand racing with and against his famous father.

It also intentionally pivots to the future with a graphic not unlike the ones we saw last year that reads “What’s next for Jr.?” before showing Earnhardt with a smile as he prepares for a stint in front of the cameras. There are also plenty of shots of Goodyear tires through the years, because hey, this is a commercial after all.

The message is a good one, too, because Dale Jr. always walked the line between honoring his famous name and making one for himself as gracefully as any multi-generational athlete ever has. Expect to see more ads like this that combine nostalgia with the future for Earnhardt as we speed through the coming NASCAR season.
