Carlos Boozer and Nate Robinson are starting their own podcast HOLDAT courtesy of SI on Feb. 21.

Former Chicago Bulls teammates and good friends Carlos Boozer and Nate Robinson are debuting a new podcast named HOLDAT this Feb. 21 on iTunes, ART19, and Stitcher. The SI podcast will feature Boozer and Robinson giving a unique players perspective on life in the NBA, both on the court and in the locker room.

Boozer and Robinson are barely removed from their playing days in the NBA so there’s an excellent chance they know exactly what’s truly going on behind closed doors. Whether they’ll use their likely sources still playing in the league to obtain key information is unknown.

It will be a game changer if players agree to communicate through them, even anonymously. Players are a lot more likely to open up to other players than traditional reporters, at least till that line becomes blurred so-to-speak. Either way, great locker room and plane ride stories are guaranteed. Will we hear about never before discussed heated confrontations off the court? Fun personalities of players we didn’t previously know about?

Boozer has promised to talk about family life on the road as well in the HOLDAT teaser released on ART19. Likewise, Robinson mentions wanting to inspire the youth and families listening to be great in life. It’ll be fascinating to hear the trials and tribulations of being an NBA player, handling Free Agency, just day to day life. Boozer and Robinson will have an opportunity to immerse their audience in every aspect of the NBA.

NBA players today have more access readily available to communicate to their fans on a massive scale than ever before. HOLDAT can easily become an overnight success, especially if Boozer and Robinson showcase behind the scenes realities. Will we finally hear about how players react to positive/negative feedback on them on social media?
