Details on how to watch the Olympics men’s game qualifying game between Slovenia and Norway.

It’s a late one, or an early one depending on where you live, when the puck drops for Slovenia against Norway.

Slovenia surprised many with their second-place finish in Group B during round robin play. They picked up an overtime victory over Team USA and a shootout win against Slovakia. Led by Jan Mursak, Slovenia has definitely been the team that has overperformed thus far.

Norway ended up last in Group C. They took Germany to a shootout, where they lost, and were easily dispatched by Sweden and Finland by scores 4-0 and 5-1. They were outscored 11-2 in round robin play.

On paper, this isn’t the most competitive matchup, but anything can happen in a single elimination game. Norway goalie Lars Haugen showed against Germany that he can stand on his head and steal a game for his country. Slovenia doesn’t have a high powered offense, but Norway will have to contain Mursak if they hope to win.

More importantly, they’ll have to find a way to score. Alexander Reichenberg and Patrick Thoresen are the only two goalscorers from Norway thus far.

The winner will meet the Olympic Athletes from Russia in the quarterfinals. OAR decimated Slovenia 8-2 in group play, skating circles around the overmatched club.

The game takes place in the middle of the night. Stay up late after USA against Slovakia or catch a nap between the two contests.
