Olympics Men’s hockey qualification playoff Germany vs Switzerland live stream

Germany and Switzerland duel for one of the quarterfinal spots in the men’s ice hockey tournament. Here’s how you can watch the Olympic action live.
Four years ago, Germany failed to even qualify for the men’s Olympic hockey tournament. The Germans made it into the top dozen this time around, and in South Korea they have acquitted themselves as well as possible. A 5-2 win in the opener against Finland was followed up by a 1-0 loss to Sweden. The Germans concluded the preliminary round with a shootout victory against Norway to finish with two points.
In Sochi, Switzerland fell in the qualification playoff in a 3-1 loss to Latvia. This year in the preliminary round, Switzerland suffered a 5-1 loss to Canada and a 4-1 loss to the Czech Republic. But they also managed to rout South Korea in an 8-0 shutout. That victory gave the Swiss side three points, putting them third in Group A behind the two powerhouses.
A veteran in the crease could prove the difference in this contest.
The Swiss squad boasts one of the tournament’s best goaltenders, Jonas Hiller. The former Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames netminder is in South Korea as he plays out the twilight of his career in the Swiss league. Hiller might prove the difference-maker on the back end, while Pius Suter and a young attack will look to open up a lead for its goalie to protect.
One of these two teams will make it through to face Sweden. The other will see its Olympic dreams come to a close in Gangneung. This is a contest hockey fans will definitely want to wake up early to catch in North America.
