You can soon pretend you’re The King by sitting in the seat of his famous 1974 Dodge Charger, but you’re going to need to open up the purse strings to do it.

Even with his very own museum, The King, Richard Petty, just has too much memorabilia to keep to himself. That’s what happens when you’re acknowledged as the GOAT in stock car racing, winning 200 races, seven Daytona 500s and seven series championships.

So with a surplus of cool stuff to commemorate his accomplishments, Petty is doing the sensible thing: he’s selling a bunch of it at an auction on May 12. And as The King told the AP, he’s including a lot of really jaw-dropping goodies in the sale.

"We’re putting some pretty good stuff out there, some winning Daytona cars, some rings, some watches, some knives. You name it, we’ve got a little bit of everything. Some of the uniforms, some stuff that really meant something in my career."

He might actually be underselling it a bit. One of the items in the auction, which will take place at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, is the 1974 Dodge Charger Petty drove for several seasons in the 70s. All that car did was rack up 31 Cup Series victories and help him win two championships.

Also in the auction is the 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Petty drove during his final title-winning campaign in 1979. He actually split that season between that Chevy and an Oldsmobile, winning the Daytona 500 in the latter, but the Monte Carlo got him four victories along the way.

Naturally, this kind of history doesn’t come cheap. Julien’s Auctions, which is running the sale, estimates that the Charger is going to set the winning bidder back somewhere around half a million dollars. For one of the most iconic cars ever to grace a NASCAR track, though? It’s probably going to be worth it to whichever fan or collector has the appropriately deep pockets.

Not everything is going to be in the six-digit stratosphere, however, as Julien’s Auctions says there are items in the Petty lot that range all the way down to “race programs, license plates, posters, trading cards.” The public will be able to view everything in the auction from May 8-12 at Planet Hollywood, and the auction itself begins at 1:00 p.m. PT on the final day of the exhibition.
