LeBron James will be a free agent at the end of the season and fans are wasting no time with their recruiting efforts.

A team synonymous with tanking and youth, the Philadelphia 76ers, now has promise and a future behind two of the most talented youngsters in the NBA, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, one a future MVP and the latter on the verge of Rookie of The Year honors. But, even with a talented core of Embiid, Simmons, Robert Covington and Dario Saric, the Sixers still need another piece to challenge the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and even the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The piece that Philadelphia could set their eyes on in the offseason is none other than the “The King” himself, LeBron James. With teams clearing payroll and shipping off expiring contracts, the Sixers could be on a short, but attractive list for the James’ services. Coming off a Super Bowl win for the “City of Brotherly Love,” fans have shifted their focus to NBA free agency — in February.

According to a tweet from ESPN’s Darren Rovell, a Philadelphia-based company, Power Home Remodeling, is leading the charge to lure the king to “Complete The Process.”

So, a couple of things to unpack here —you must applaud the tenacity of the Philadelphia sports fan, they will absolutely jump through hoops for their sports franchises. Whether it’s climbing light poles rubbed down with Crisco or in this case purchasing billboards, the Philly fan is determined.

While fans may have dreams of the potential James-Simmons-Embiid big three, this is not the first attempt by a fan base to lure in James. In 2010, a group behind SendLeBrontoChicago.com had the same idea, purchasing a billboard that displayed in downtown Chicago, but to no avail, their efforts went unnoticed followed up by “The Decision,” and James eventually signing with the Miami Heat.

LeBron James is still the best player in the NBA and competing at the highest level at age 33, he is averaging 26.6 points per game, a true shooting percentage of 62.2 percent, while posting a usage percentage of 30.9 — only behind James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Giannis Antetokounmpo at this point of the season.

With LeBron in your lineup, you’re an immediate favorite, so there is no shame in Philly fans shooting their shot. He’s still “The King” and as the saying goes, “you miss 100 percent of the shots that you don’t take.”

Keep shooting, Philly fans, keep shooting.
