2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets fly high with Baker Mayfield
By Brad Weiss
With the 2018 NFL Draft slated to start in less than two months, we take a look at our latest mock draft, with the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend.
The 2018 NFL Draft is less than two months away, which means the internet will be flooded with mocks from here on out. The Cleveland Browns will pick twice in the first four picks, so that gives them two chances to get it wrong. All kidding aside, the first round of the NFL Draft is always an exciting night, and new Browns general manager John Dorsey should be able to bring in some solid talent that high in the first round.
With a little under two months remaining before the 2018 NFL Draft, lets take a look at our latest mock draft.
The biggest question heading into the 2018 NFL Draft is which quarterback is going to be taken first overall. Every mock draft has a different signal-caller at the top, from Josh Allen of Wyoming, to Josh Rosen of UCLA. In our latest mock draft, we like USC’s Sam Darnold to be the first player taken in April, as he has the talent to step right in and start right away.
Last season, the Cleveland Browns did not win a single game, and have won only one game in the last two seasons combined. They did bring in a new general manager in John Dorsey, who did a lot to make the Kansas City Chiefs a perennial playoff team. His draft expertise will be relied on heavily in April, as the Browns have a ton of draft picks in the first and second rounds.
Darnold can come in and play right away, and the Browns do still have second rounder DeShone Kizer on the roster. This team needs to start winning games, or else head coach Hue Jackson is sure to be shown the door. The Browns also have the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, so they have two swings to bring in some talent that can finally start to turn this franchise around.
