10. player. 42. . Wide Receiver. SMU. Courtland Sutton

The San Francisco 49ers made one of the biggest trades we have seen in a long time during the trade deadline in the 2017 NFL season, picking up quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The trade for Jimmy G really turned their season around, as they won every game he started once he was inserted into the starting lineup. Garoppolo won the team’s last five games, and as they head to the offseason, they are suddenly one of the more interesting teams in the league.

The first thing the 49ers did this offseason was lock up Garoppolo, giving him a huge contract despite the fact he has made only seven NFL starts. With their first round pick in 2018, the team should look to bring in some weapons to put around him, and Courtland Sutton from SMU would be a nice grab at No. 10. Marquise Godwin played very well in 2017, so teaming him with Sutton on the outside would give Garoppolo two legitimate threats in the passing game.

San Francisco might pick at No. 9 in the draft, as a coin toss with the Oakland Raiders will decide where they pick. Even if they do pick ninth overall, the odds are they will bring in some talent on the offensive side of the ball. The 49ers could be a team that challenges for a playoff spot next season, but that is only going to happen if Garoppolo can continue to develop. Sutton helps him do that.
