2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets fly high with Baker Mayfield
By Brad Weiss
The Baltimore Ravens needed only to win their season finale to advance to the AFC Playoffs. Playing at home, the lowly Cincinnati Bengals came into M&T Bank Stadium and put a thrashing on the Ravens. As they head into the offseason, the sting of that loss has to be tough, but they do have enough talent on defense to put them in that position again in 2018.
When it comes to the other side of the ball, the Ravens need a lot of help. One area where they could stand to get better is at running back, as quarterback Joe Flacco needs a legitimate option in the backfield. While he is not a first rounder on a lot of lists, Derrius Guice could find himself in the middle of the first round, as he has the physical talent to be a breakout player at the next level.
Guice led the SEC in rushing during the 2016 season serving as Leonard Fournette’s backup, so production has never been an issue. He is also built to play in the NFL right now, and should be an impact player from day one. You have to be able to run the ball in the AFC North, and with Guice standing behind Flacco, the Ravens suddenly become a very dangerous running team.
