Refill your coffee, grab a danish, order some pancakes for the table — do whatever you need to do to gear up for the final stretch run of the NBA season, because it is here. The playoff race in the West has jumped into overdrive. Anthony Davis and the Pelicans are surging and the Clippers won’t go away. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have to cope with losing Jimmy Butler indefinitely as they try to end their postseason drought.

In the East, the Wizards have galvanized since John Wall was sidelined by surgery and appear to have become a more joyful basketball team. As much as they claim the “Everybody Eats” mantra isn’t a shot at Wall, at the very least things must be getting awkward. Especially when you remember that J.J. Barea claimed “I don’t think even his teammates like him” when talking about Wall earlier this season.

So on the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast, we break down the drama in Washington and a host of other NBA topics, while still managing to talk about the Zodiac and McDonald’s customer service.

Also addressed:

  • Which members of the Timberwolves do NOT need to step up?
  • Will Paul Millsap returning derail the good chemistry of the Nuggets?
  • If you could assign one [non-Warrior or LeBron] superstar to a new team for the rest of the season, who would you pick?
  • Did Bobby Portis jinx himself from getting 40 points?
