Saquon Barkley is continuing his dominant performace at the NFL Combine on Friday afternoon.

There are very few certainties when discussing the NFL Draft. The 2018 version does have one; Saquon Barkley is the best running back in this class.

At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Barkley is showing how truly special of a talent he is. Before even taking the field for drills there was eyes glued to him. His first performance was in the bench press. As a 233-pound running back he was able to put up an incredible 29 reps, tied with Nick Chubb of Georgia for tops at the position.

Next up for the freak athlete was the vertical jump. To the surprise of nobody, Barkley obliterated that exercise as well. Watch the video below and try to remember that this man weighs 233 pounds.

A 41-inch vertical jump is impressive period, but the fact he can do that at his size is shocking.

Watching him jump out of the gym does not come as a big surprise. At Penn State, Barkley set the school record, regardless of position, for the power clean. The video below shows him power cleaning over 400 pounds. This is a great exercise to show lower body power and explosion, key for vertical jumps.

Last year’s first-overall pick Myles Garrett was able to match Barkley’s vertical jump with 41 inches while being 272 pounds. Garrett’s team now hold the first and fourth pick in the draft. Either of those could be a potential landing spot for Barkley.

Barkley’s workout will continue Friday with on-field drills and a much-anticipated 40-yard dash. There is very little he can do to drop his stock, which is all the more reason his performance is so impressive. The tape and production show what these tests are all proving. This man is an elite athlete who can be a special NFL running back very soon.
